Crafty Feast: Last one, I swear.

It feels like cheating to keep using my Crafty Feast photos on the blog, but there was so much cool stuff there, I can't resist. Here is my final vendor run down; I promise!

Hipster napkins by Olive O Home, beautiful cutting boards by Sixteen Acre Wood, and maps made art by Off the Map.

Soaps (and best packaging of the day) from Whispering Willow, trash turned into treasure from, you guessed it, Trash to Treasure, and who doesn't need a moustache koozie from Cranky Pants.

And I'll leave you with pretty clothing for children (with spiked bonnets!) from Owlette Collective, eco friendly handmade stuffed animals from PogoShop and the 1000 things I wanted to buy from 17 Dove Street!

Did anyone else make it to Crafty Feast? Who were your favorites?

More Crafts and Feast

Crafty Feast photo rundown, round 2. Again, I had a great time at Crafty Feast a little over a week ago. Pretty, handmade things; familiar faces and some new ideas. Here's round 2 of some of my favorite vendors:

There was quite a bit of woodworking at the feast. You just don't normally see it in jewelry. These earrings were really pretty - and surprisingly light weight.

Neogranny - another vendor who is amazing with wood. Complete opposites, design wise though. These pieces were really fun and whimsical. Mason jars, handheld video cameras and rotary phones ...

The bird theme was full on at Crafty Feast - and I like it. And I know I'm not alone. Birds on necklaces, earrings, cufflinks, and even on their own. Couldn't resist grabbing a picture of these handmade guys from Token Emotion.

More cute birds from Birdies. And I'm so glad I finally got to see some works by Phoenix Fire Studios. Her glasses are amazing. And I hadn't seen the mugs before. I'll leave you with one of the most fun vendors - Not Made in China. Clever buttons with local flare!

Crafty Feast + Photos

I FINALLY made it to an out of town Market. I'm pretty good about getting to Holy City Artist & Fleas, Pop-Up Shops, the Farmer's Market and Maker's Market, but if a market is outside of Charleston, my laziness/busy-ness takes over. But finally - I made it out!

My friend Angela and I took a little mini road trip to Columbia last weekend to check out Crafty Feast. It was a lot of fun. I've toyed with the idea of hosting the market in a larger location, to accommodate more vendors, so it was nice to see how that could look.

Crafty Feast look well organized - and well attended. There was a $2 admission fee to come in, but it provided a drink ticket, so you broke even there. They had several people working - and asked each of us our zip code when we came in - information I'd love to have for the LAM!

Here are some of my favorite pics from the event. I tried to get pictures with the vendor's card or name attached, so you can Google and shop! Or just check out this list of vendors from the event for the full roster.

Purses, purses, purses. I'm such a sucker. I always end up picking out 3 or so bags from Add Libb Designs at the Market and then waiting to see if they are still there at the end of the event. I leave my shopping to fate!

The beauty of having the event in a convention center - space! It's a struggle to get everyone in the Music Farm, so it was nice to see what vendors could do when given a little more room to maneuver.

There were several pottery and woodworking vendors, something you don't see quite as much of in Charleston. Really cool stuff. The wooden bowls above were made from ONE piece of wood each - pretty amazing.

This booth was fun. Stuffed animals all made from recycled fabric - sweaters, etc. I appreciated the lush bird, shown above.

I'll leave you with jewelry. I really, really liked Below 14th Designs' pieces. Unique and affordable - Angela and I both picked up pieces here.

More pretty things from Crafty Feast to come!

My Cheatin' Heart

Forgive me, LAM supporters. I've been cheating with another blog. But I swear, you're still my main squeeze.

I recently left the Music Farm for a new opportunity; one that comes in the 9-5 version. And while I find weekends incredibly sweet, I realize I was doing quite a bit of mid-week blogging. Just give me a little time. I'll adjust and be posting awesomeness again in no time.

I'll still be hosting the Artist Market at the Farm - so no worries there. I actually should have a date by the beginning of next week! As soon as we have a date, I'll start taking applications. Can't wait to do it all over again!

But, because I've been cheating, I'll give you the opportunity to do the same. Be sure to check out Crafty Feast, coming to Columbia SC on April 28th!

With 100 or so vendors - ranging from jewelry, candles, stuffed animals, print art, sweet treats, woodworking, and pottery to glassware and purses, you definitely want to check this one out.

What is Crafty Feast?
Crafty Feast is an independent, juried craft fair that began in May of 2009 and specializes in experimental, non-traditional and unique handmade or repurposed crafts.  Vendors range from unusual jewelry to odd stuffed animals and vintage fabric purses. Sometimes Crafty Feast is indoors and sometimes it’s outdoors.  Every festival is a little different.
