I know May is feeling pretty far away right now, but lately for me, months fly by.  So go ahead and mark your calendars for Thursday, May 3rd to be a part of Charleston's 1st Eco Bridal Guide.

Thursday, May 3rd
6-9 pm

hosted by:

On Thursday, May 3rd from 6-9pm at Magnolia Plantation we invite you to celebrate the release of Charleston’s first Eco Bridal Guide and Film.  This beautiful event will highlight local businesses that are mindful of using organic and sustainable materials while creating naturally beautiful occasions. This celebration will be styled by Ooh! Events and Blue Planet Green Events and hosted by Marcus Amaker, Sarah Poe, Pistil Films, and Rachel Gordon.

There will also be a One Love fashion installation, live wax pouring by Rewined candles, a yoga demonstration by Bella Forza Studios, and more creative installations, demonstrations, and performances throughout the night.  A low-country boil from The Smoking Pot, vegan bites from Bull Street Gourmet, and sweet treats from WildFlour Pastry, will keep your taste buds a flutter and Ice Box will be keeping your whistle wet.

Shop Rumors

I recently had a chance to speak with Sarah Poe about some shop rumors floating around the Charleston scene and here's what I found out.

Local fashion designer, Rachel Gordon and jewelry designer Sarah Poe are joining forces to create a new store on upper king.  Located at 478 King Street, they are in the process of redesigning the space and will host a grand celebration on Friday, March 2nd.

Three weeks later Rachel will launch her new bridal line at Charleston Fashion Week, as the featured designer. Sarah will be designing a line of accessories for bridal that coordinates with Rachel's designs.  Here are a few shots from a preview album found here.

Haven't checked out Rachel or Sarah yet?  Here are a few shots from their first collaborative photo shoot.  Photography by Sarah Poe. Make up by Jonny Cosmetics, Hair by Alise Buckner.

Sarah says, "The store will be open on Fridays and Saturdays to the public and by appointment only the rest of the week. We will host a trunk show the first Friday of every month at the shop, inviting a few local artists to join us and showcase their work. The store will be a home for our designs as well as a focus on our favorite local artists. We will have a selection of artists from pottery and stationary to Shrimp Record's discography and Tshirts. There will be a line of children's clothing, jewelry and much more. I will also have a select line of amazing vintage pieces that I have been collecting."
So be sure to support these ladies at One and Charleston Fashion Week.  And perhaps see Sarah Poe Designs at the Lowcountry Artist Market as well!
