SheSells Candles are made with custom blended and individually hand poured soy wax. Each candle has 9 oz of beautiful fragrant wax that has an approximate burn time of 70 long hours.
A characteristic of pure, natural soy wax can be frosting of the candle. This tends to be more noticeable in colored soy candles. The frosting on a soy candles is similar to the frosting you can see on very fine chocolates. It is the result of a natural product and has no effect on the burning or scent of the candle. In fact, it is one way to know that the candle you are burning is 100% soy.
Benefits of Soy Wax:
Clean Burning -- Soy wax is non-toxic and burns cleaner than paraffin with no petrol-carbon soot which can blacken walls, ceilings and furniture, as well as add toxic carcinogens into the air you breathe.
Long Burning -- Soy Candles burn slower and cooler than paraffin wax creating a longer burning candle.
Renewable Resource -- The major advantage that soybean wax has over paraffin is that its source, soybeans, can be renewed so much more quickly than a paraffin source, crude oil. Whereas oil, a fossil fuel, takes millions of years to form, a crop of soybeans can be replanted at least once a year.
Biodegradable -- Since soybeans are vegetables, soy wax (basically made from hydrogenated soybean oil) is naturally biodegradable. Soy wax is also easier to remove from materials and other surfaces than paraffin wax.
