Made it out to Mixon on Sunday for the Maker's Market. What a cute neighborhood!

And the layout was great - plenty of space for the vendors, live music under the shed, beer and wine, Hello My Name is BBQ and lots of room for kids and dogs to run around.

I think what I like most about this event (besides the vendors of course) was the sense of community you felt there. People brought lawn chairs and spent the afternoon in the park. Supporting local talent has never been more fun!

The Farmer's Market is back next weekend. It feels like a long time coming for me; can't wait to enjoy a Saturday morning in Marion Square. Any other markets in your plans?

I realized I've been working in a bar too long when I read this as "Maker's Mark" initially. Anyone with me on that?

But I quickly realized it's a MUST attend event - with several options. The 1st Sunday of every month (starting in April) will give you the opportunity to shop/eat/play local. Don't miss out!

2012 Maker’s Market at Mixson

A venue for fine handmade crafts and locally produced items

North Charleston, S.C. (March 22, 2012) – Mixson, a blossoming community in North Charleston’s historic Park Circle district, is thrilled to announce the 2012 dates for the Maker’s Market at Mixson. Located at 4400 Marblehead Lane, the Market will feature an array of Lowcountry-inspired attractions – food trucks, local brews, live music and wares produced by local artisans – from 10:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m. on the first Sunday of each month, beginning on April 1^st.

"After the success of the Maker's Market at Mixson last year, we are excited to host the local creative community at Mixson again," said Michael Phillips, chief operating officer of Jamestown. "We look forward to a continued relationship with these talented creators and to supporting the many innovative artists in Charleston."
