Congrats to Neve Inspired!

I'm sure many of you already know about Neve Inspired - Bob and Kris Galmarini - the husband and wife team creating amazing kid's clothing. They participated in several of the Lowcountry Artist Markets, but missed the last one - and for good reason. They were tied up with launching their first full line, showing at Playtime in NYC and rocking the runway as an emerging designer at Charleston Fashion Week!

The first emerging designer semi-finalists, Bob and Kris Galmarini, told the audience they wanted to put the “fun” in “functional.” What they really accomplished was putting a smile on the faces of everyone under the tents. The husband and wife duo’s line, Neve Inspired, included silk-screened T-shirts, rolled-up jeans, tiny hipster glasses, and a few tulle skirts — perfect for a Saturday trip to the record store for that latest Yo Gabba Gabba! vinyl. The Galmarinis received a standing ovation as they walked off the runway.

We’re about simple, comfortable clothes that are versatile and fun. Our collection is made from soft, pleasant fabrics that kids love to wear. We limit the trim, buttons, and zippers to maximize comfort and stand up to hard play. The pieces are versatile and were designed to be layered and matched. Many are reversible or convert into another garment -- skirts turn into dresses and sweaters are reversible for added wear, great for quick changes when kids dirty one side. The endless combinations create looks that are unique yet wearable, and the fun designs and artistic touches appeal to the edges of childrens’ imaginations.

Congratulations Neve Inspired! It is so inspiring to see someone have a dream and go (read: work) for it. I cannot wait to see how far you go!

Help Neve Inspired create their first full line!

Hopefully you were able to check out Neve Inspired at the Lowcountry Artist Market a few weeks ago.  This husband and wife team have transformed their master bedroom into a screen printing workshop, hand creating children's clothing.  They have recently been accepted into Playtime New York, the children’s tradeshow in NYC, where they will debut this new line.

If you want to help them get to NYC, check out their Kickstarter page.  You can sign up for a varied amount - and each level of backing comes with a gift of appreciation.  These are great folks who are working hard and giving something back to the community.  Donate here!

I'm so grateful to the Music Farm for allowing us to use the space.  It's such an amazing venue - and the ceilings!  Be sure to check out their online calendar for upcoming shows.

Guest Post from Neve Inspired

Thank you Bob and Kris Galmarini for handling the Artist Market blog for me today.  I am always impressed with the level of professionalism and quality of goods from so many of our vendors.  And Neve Inspired is as legit as they come - in addition to having some of the cutest clothes for kids out there.  Check out their website or this prior blog post about them.  And don't miss them at the Lowcountry Artist Market!

Living in Charleston has been a dream for our little family of four, for many reasons- the history, the beauty, the beach. But, the most inspirational reason Charleston has won over our hearts is the ever-so-powerful creativity that is flowing through this town. Artists of all types, all styles, creating and supporting others to create as well. It is marvelous and is truly what has fueled us to continue our dream of having a children's clothing company.

Come join all of the brilliant local artists at the Lowcountry Artists Market on November 19th. As soon as you walk in the door you will undeniably feel the spirit of the creative community and see all the hardwork, love and passion that goes into each piece created. And then do this: buy something. Buy local for the holidays. Help keep fueling these artists passions for creating which, in turn, makes this city something spectacular.
